We are seeking a detail-oriented, adaptable, and highly creative Architectural Drafter to translate architectural concepts into precise, buildable technical drawings and innovative 3D visualizations. This position offers flexibility, ranging from part-time to full-time hours based on project workloads and candidate availability, with guaranteed paid overtime for any hours worked beyond standard limits.
This is a hybrid role requiring part-time in-office collaboration. Candidates must live within a reasonable commuting distance to either our Rhinebeck, NY or Auburn, NY area operations. You will play a key role in our design process, using Autodesk Revit to build construction documents and Twinmotion to produce photorealistic client presentations.

Key Responsibilities

  • BIM Drafting & Modeling: Translate architectural sketches and design directives into highly accurate 3D models and 2D construction documentation using Revit.
  • Visualization & Rendering: Utilize Twinmotion to create high-quality, photorealistic renderings, walkthroughs, and innovative presentation materials for internal review and client meetings.
  • Document Preparation: Assist with the layout and organization of comprehensive construction document sets (floor plans, elevations, building sections, and details).
  • File Management: Organize, maintain, and archive digital project archives. Ensure precise version control across all models, CAD files, and assets. Follow our established internal server or cloud structure protocols.
  • Coordination & Collaboration: Collaborate seamlessly with architects, project managers, and engineers to brainstorm creative solutions, ensure drawings are error-free, and meet all project requirements.
  • Code Compliance: Ensure all drafts and construction drawings adhere to relevant local building codes, zoning regulations, and industry standards.
  • Revisions: Implement design changes and modifications rapidly based on team feedback and site conditions.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Location Requirement: Must reside within a commutable distance to Rhinebeck, NY or Auburn, NY to accommodate the hybrid schedule.
  • Education & Experience: Candidates must meet at least ONE of the following educational criteria, paired with a mandatory requirement that all professional experience must be within an architecture office environment:

    • Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) degree.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Design.
    • Associate’s degree in Architectural Drafting / Technology.
    • 5+ years of direct, on-the-job professional experience within an architecture office, accompanied by strong examples of work.
  • Revit Expertise: Proven experience creating architectural models and construction documents using Revit within an architecture office setting.
  • Twinmotion Skills: Proven experience using Twinmotion (or similar real-time rendering engines) to produce top-tier architectural visualizations.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, digital archiving systems, and architectural drafting standards.
  • Portfolio Requirement: Must provide explicit examples of work demonstrating both technical Revit drafting capabilities and creative, high-fidelity Twinmotion rendering/animation skills from past professional office projects.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent attention to detail, strong time-management skills, and an innovative mindset that thrives in a fast-paced, small-team environment.

What We Offer

  • Competitive hourly rate ($18.00 – $27.00/hr) tailored to your depth of experience.
  • Paid overtime structure for extra hours worked.
  • Flexible part-time to full-time schedule based on workflow needs.
  • Flexible hybrid work schedule (split between home and the office).
  • Flexible working hours to help maintain a healthy work-life balance.
  • Paid Time Off (PTO).
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company matching.
  • Direct mentorship from principals and clear, accelerated opportunities for career growth.
