What is VMock?
VMock is an AI-driven career acceleration platform that provides personalized feedback and guidance to students and professionals on their resumes, LinkedIn profiles, and elevator pitches. VMock leverages technologies like data science, machine learning, and natural language processing to provide instant personalized feedback on resumes based on criteria gathered from employers and global best practices — from anywhere, at any time of the day.
VMock analyzes your resume and tells you exactly what is working and what isn’t, with specificity and detail — all in less than 60 seconds. Over 250 higher education institutions in more than 130 countries use VMock’s services.
Key Features
- SMART Resume — Provides users an initial score benchmarked against their cohort along with detailed, personalized feedback and guidance. The feedback is segmented into five core modules: Impact, Presentation, Competencies, Bullet, and Section-level feedback.
- Resume Optimizer — Enables you to create a recruiter-ready resume targeted toward a specific job description or your desired career track — excellent preparation for applications that ATS systems will review, which scan for keywords, skills, and competencies.
- SMART Interviews — VMock’s Mock Interviews platform provides built-in mock interview sets for 100+ career tracks for students to practice. Students can create their own custom mock interview and receive AI feedback on non-verbal communication and delivery of speech.
- Aspire (LinkedIn Optimizer) — Helps create a compelling LinkedIn profile with targeted and personalized recommendations to improve language, content, and key terms for recruiter search optimization.
- Cover Letter Module — Students can create company or job-specific cover letters with real-time feedback on targeted keywords, content impact, and essential formatting checks.
- Network Feedback — Allows users to share their resume and receive feedback from their network or career advisors, with feedback that is dynamic and adjusts as users make improvements.

How to Create an Account and Access VMock
Step 1: Go to the TSU VMock portal Navigate to vmock.com/tsulaw or access it through the Career Pathways Center at cpc.tsu.edu/resources/vmock and click “View Resource.”
Step 2: Sign in with your TSU credentials Click “Continue with University ID” and log in using your TSU Single Sign-On (SSO) username and password.
Step 3: Complete your profile Answer the onboarding questions to set up your account. VMock will use this information to personalize your feedback based on your major, career goals, and peer group.
Step 4: Upload your resume Upload your resume as a PDF to receive an instant score and detailed, line-by-line feedback. VMock’s resume score is provided on a scale of 0–100, computed based on three core modules, and appears automatically in your Student Dashboard after the review process is complete. Strive for a score of 86% or higher.
Step 5: Review feedback and make improvements Review the detailed suggestions across Impact, Presentation, and Competencies, then update your resume accordingly. Re-upload your revised resume to track your score improvement. The analysis process is quick and may only take about 15–20 seconds.
Step 6: Explore additional tools Once your resume is in good shape, use VMock’s additional features — SMART Interviews for mock interview practice, Aspire to optimize your LinkedIn profile, and the Cover Letter module to craft targeted cover letters for specific positions.
