Business Development Executive, The W2 Group

Phil is a Business Development Executive based out of Philadelphia, PA. He serves as the Managing Principal for both The W2 Group, a marketing and business development firm, and Tech3D, a nonprofit that brings 3D printing education to schools and smaller businesses to “help create makers”.

My name is Phil Walker and I am Managing Principal of the W2Group. W2Group is a market and business development consulting firm that works with companies primarily in the sustainability industry. And that industry includes energy efficiency, indoor air quality, wastewater management or water purification, and sustainable agriculture. A project for us can be everything from getting involved helping the client to identify who their target market is, and helping them to go after that target market, as well as building what I'll call distribution networks, helping them to create distributors and dealers around the country, to help sell their products or their services as well as their strategic planning. So we will sit down with organizations, help them to identify what their three and five year business plans are, and then help them to execute on those plans. I'm also a managing partner in an organization called Tech3D. Tech3D is a 3D printing company that provides educational services to the K through 12 community around 3D printing. And also provides rapid prototyping, design scanning, consulting services to manufacturers and professional organizations as well as nonprofits. And so my role with both Tech3D and with W2Group is really to a large degree manage the corporate portfolio, oversee our consultants, really manage our business relationships with our clients, making sure that we have a definitive plan with measurable steps, in terms of what that plan looks like for our client to help us to help them reach their goals, and make sure that we're implementing and executing every single day and every single week. And if we have to veer off from that for whatever reason, making sure that we're on top of that, and communicating that with the client. And then also calling on potential new business clients.
