Chris works as an Emergency Medical Services Technician in the state of Maryland. Along with other EMTs, Chris provides medical support and transportation for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients with a wide range of health conditions. Chris studied Emergency Medical Sciences to prepare for this field.

>> My name is Chris Evans and I'm a paramedic for a local private ambulance company. So pretty much I get into work, I make sure that I have all my medications, my ambulance is fully stocked and that the unit is running properly with, you know, everything from tires to the lights and sirens [inaudible]. You know, we let our dispatch know that we're in service and then from that point on, we take calls as they come in so it can be anything from discharges to hospital to hospital transports, critical care transports, ventilator calls and we deal with adults and pediatric patients and geriatric patients as well.
