Your Step-by-Step Checklist to Get Started

Step 1: Know Your Why

  • Identify what experience you need (skills, industry exposure, resume content)
  • Think about which career paths interest you

Step 2: Take the Forage Career Assessment Quiz

  • Visit theforage.com/quiz to find your career fit
  • Browse job simulations matched to your results
  • Complete at least one free virtual job simulation
  • Add the certificate to your resume and LinkedIn profile

Step 3: Sign Up for Parker Dewey

  • Create a free account at parkerdewey.com
  • Browse available micro-internship projects
  • Apply to projects that match your skills and interests
  • Complete your first paid project and request feedback

Step 4: Update Your Resume

  • Add your Forage simulation certificate
  • Add your Parker Dewey micro-internship experience
  • Use WriteSea or VMock to review and score your resume
  • Optimize keywords with Jobscan for specific job postings

Step 5: Visit the Career Pathways Center

  • Stop by the Second Floor, Student Center at TSU
  • Meet with a career advisor for personalized guidance
  • Schedule a resume review appointment
  • Ask about upcoming career fairs and employer events
